We’ll use simple materials – graphite pencil and watercolours, to create lovely contrast, simple shading and leave lots of white space to create balance. Come along with me as we “colour outside the lines” 🙂
The cost for this class is $49 US.
In these lessons I show you how I create MY STYLE of watercolour, it’s all loose and “flowy”, we ignore all the lines, and splash it around, there are no rules, use your intuition and just go for it.
We will create simple graphite line drawings with basic shading, and use these as the backdrop for our brilliant and colourful flowers, that really steal the show. We will create quirky easy to draw faces that are full of character and charm.
You will watch the complete project’s from start to finish as I create our four girls, Gloria, Amber, Flora and Betsy.
Who is this class for?
This is a beginners to intermediate class incorporating basic watercolour and simple drawing techniques. It is a work at your own pace class. You will gain access to just under 3.5 hours of video in which I walk you through each step of the projects.
This is an open ended workshop with no expiration date. Plus all the videos are downloadable and yours to keep!
You will have access to the joint private FACEBOOK GROUP with others that are also taking my classes, to share your work and get feedback.

What supplies will I need for the class?
Please use what you already have in your collection. The items below are what I have used in this class.
- Watercolour paper – 4 sheets – I use 300gsm cold press smooth surface (I use the back of the paper, it’s smoother) – A4 size (21 x 29.7cm)
- Assorted watercolour paints (tubes or pans)
- Tube white Gouache
- A couple of large round watercolour brushes
- Selection of graphite pencils – 2b, 4b, 6 & 8b – I use Staedtler Mars Lumograph
- Mechanical pencil 0.9 thick lead – 2b – optional only (all you really need is the set listed above)
- Eraser and sharpener
- paper towel
- water and paint palette
